Refresher's Night

After the hectic schedules in conducting the annual club and area speech contests during the past few weeks, everything was settling back to normal. Last Wednesday, February 21, 2013, the PSME-SA & Friends Toastmasters Club held its 389th meeting in IPSA, Al-Khobar, KSA.

 

Although there were no speech project speakers, it was still a lively and educational evening. TM Ronel Aposaga brought us back to our elementary days when he presented a refresher lecture on the English language. It was really enjoyable especially the short oral quiz at the end of his lecture where everybody had actively participated.

 

The Table Topics discussion was the centerpoint in the night's session with the thought provoking questions from the Table Topics Master, TM Willie de Lara.

 

The session ended with  snacks  - pancit canton (Chinese noodles with meat and vegetables).

Area 70 Annual Speech Contest

The Area 70 Annual Speech Contest was held on February 15, 2013 at the Tulip Hotel in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

Four contestants from the PSME-SA & Friends Toastmasters Club participated in the contest while some members were assigned with several functions. TM Ronel Aposaga was the Club's contestant in the Evaluation Speech Contest. TM Kenneth Alontaga was the club's contestant in the International Speech Contest and in the Table Topics Speech Contest. TM Ven Macatuggal represented the Club in the Humorous Speech Contest.

TM Kenneth Alontaga placed 2nd in the Table topics Speech Contest and will be one of the contestants of Area 70 during the Division F Speech Contest which will be held on March 14, 2013.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Club Speech Contest

The PSME-SA & Friends Toastmasters Club held its annual speech contest at the IPSA, Al-Khobar last Wednesday, January 30, 2013.

The Area 70 Governor, TM Brindha Subathran together with some of the Club veterans acted as  judges. TM Ben Cesora was the Contest Chairman while TM Lito Alpay was the Chief Judge.

Third - TM Ronel Aposaga

International Speech Contest:

Evaluation Speech Contest:

Second - TM Marc Niera
Third - TM Ariel Ebarle

Humorous Speech Contest:

First - TM Ven Macatuggal

All first place winners in each category will represent the Club in the forthcoming Area 70 Speech Contest in Tulip Hotel, Al-Khobar on February 15, 2013.
